Infinity has been involved in Formula 1 competition for a long time as a Red Bull Racing's sponsor. This year it became a technical partner of Renault. And Infinity is trying its best to get as much profit from this partnership as possible. Project Black S is a concept that uses Formula 1 high-rate discharge batteries and energy-harvesting technologies in order to increase power and reduce turbo lag. Infinity expects to increase Q60's turbocharged V6 engine power by 25 percent for the Project Blask S.

Despite the fact that the new concept hybrid system will add some weight to the powertrain, Project Black S won't suffer a lot from it, because of 21-inch lightweight wheels and other weight-reducing updates, which were not exposed so far.

Project Black S is not only about innovative engine technologies. Advanced carbon-fiber manufacturing techniques are among other important features. These techniques have not ever been used by Infinity in their cars before.

Project Black S is something like a testing platform for Infinity, where company tries out all the innovative solutions it has in a backpack. Not everyone will like this car, because it looks different. But Project Black S is a great tool for Infinity to show that it keeps on moving forward.

The next stop for the Project Black S is on show in Geneva.
