On January 19, the Arizona desert witnessed boosted and extremely fast Shelby American’s 50th Anniversary Super Snake at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction. The cobra-like coupe is coming in memory of Carrol Shelby’s prototype 1967 Ford Mustang, which had 650 hp 427 FE GT40 engine and posted a record top speed at 170 mph. The classic one-and-only car was sold at $1.3 million via auction in 2013. At the same time, Shelby American with Mustang GT being a foundation brought back the name Super Snake in 2007.
