Water sports are the physical training that has a huge number of types, samples and differences. These kind of sports can be divided into ordinary ones (the Olympic program) and extreme ones. Kayaking is one of the independent kinds of sports, to be precise – this is a kind of rowing. A kayak is a type of boats which an athlete uses for participation in races or just for passing a certain distance. A kayaker is a person who does kayaking sport. A kayak is a one-seat boat (sometimes it can be two-seat or three-seat boats) where an athlete sits on their buttocks with straighten ahead legs. Above a person is covered with a special “apron”, or “skirt”, which prevents water from getting into a kayak and prevents a sportsman from getting wet in case of falling or turn over.

In order to move on the kayak one should have a paddle, of course, which has two different blades on two sides. By alternate push-offs from both sides of the boat with the help of two paddles it starts its motion. One shouldn’t mix up kayaks with bidarkas or canoes. These also are water boats for rowing and races but they have some distinctive features in the person’s position on the board and in tracing of motion.

This kind of sport is relatively young energetic and quite extreme. For many active young people it is a hobby, a mainstream. But for some enthusiastic people kayaking is a lifestyle. This physical training as any other type of activity has transformed within the time and now it’s got some variations and options to choose from.
