Wladimir Klitschko

Wladimir Wladimirovich Klitschko (born March 25, 1976; Semey, Kazakhstan) is the professional Ukrainian boxer in the heavyweight category.

He won a gold medal in the super heavyweight category (over 200 lb) at the 1996 Olympics.

Wladimir is the World heavyweight champion, having held WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO as well as Ring magazine title. He is the younger brother of professional boxer Vitali Klitschko, the former holder of the title of world heavyweight champion in the WBO and WBC titles.

Some facts of his life:
- He steps in the ring under the song «Can’t stop» by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.

- In 2008 while staying in Los Angeles he tricked a British actor-comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who played a role Borat Sagdiyev in the scandal movie Borat. In particular, he stated that his movie was "not funny" and made fun of him saying that "he breaks the neck for less serious things." Afterwards, Wladimir said to Sasha Baron Cohen that in fact, the image of Borat was stunning.

- In 2013 he became the number two in terms of the duration of the championship leaving behind Larry Holmes, who had dominated in the late 1970s – mid-1980s, following the legendary Joe Louis, holding the "throne" for 11 years, 8 months and 8 days.

- The second world champion after Mike Tyson, who won all major titles one after the other, though unlike Tyson needed more time for that.

- On November 14, 2008, World Boxing Association (WBO) called him the heavyweight of the year.

- Played the main role in the music video of the famous rock musician Chris Cornell – «Part of Me» in May 2009.

- On March 29, 2012, Wladimir auctioned off his Olympic gold medal for $1 million (but the buyer returned the medal out of respect for Wladimir and because he wanted it to remain with the Klitschko family). The funds were directed to charitable projects of Klitschko Brothers Foundation.

- Together with his brother and Sylvester Stallone produces the musical "Rocky."

- An amateur drums player.

- In 1999 the magazine Bravo Sport and Harburg TV conducted the study covering the following: in the hall of the club Universum Box-Promotion the punching bag with sensors, with which he struck the left side impact. The studies revealed that the strength of Wladimir’s left shock corresponds to 881 lb, and the left-hand speed – to 21 mph.

- In 2013 before the fight with the Italian Francesco Pianeta Wladimir measured the force of his impact on the right hand via dummy crash test. The EUR 80,000 doll is commonly used for testing vehicles. The sensors recorded that the force reached 1,543 lb.
